#LearningProject

My friend lent me his guitar throughout the semester while I work on learning my new skill.  I played around with many songs throughout this semester.  Most of the songs I looked up I can now play and the others I can play at least half of.  The song that I really settled on this semester was Good Riddance by Green Day.

Once I learned the cords it was about learning getting down the strum pattern.  The strum pattern took me the longest to learn and smoothly changing through the cords.  Chords in this song are G, Cadd9, D, Em, C.  Although not every minute was documented I spent many hours strumming away.  If ever I had a free moment or was waiting for supper to cook I would pick it up and try and prefect the song.  The second video above is after a week of knowing the song and practicing you can still see my strum pattern sucks and moving to chords is not a smooth progression.

The video above is the final product from hours of trying to master a single song.  In the end I am satisfied with the result of which I have learned.  Something about guitar is without singing it can sound like absolutely nothing at all.  Since this guitar was my friend's I think I will purchase my own and continue to learn.  Something else I would like to learn is Ukulele.  I found playing guitar to be soothing and at the end of these 3 months I have learned at least 4-7 songs.  Just so happens that Green Day was the one I spent the most time on.
